Grow Your Current Assets

This article is all about current assets and how to make the most of your current assets in growing your wealth.

Current assets include cash and checking accounts that are expected to vary in the amount throughout any period of time. This includes buying items, withdrawals, deposits, and income. Current assets are what you currently have to spend.

One of the best ways to increase your current assets is to save your money. This can be difficult for most, as your current assets are used to pay bills and provide for daily and monthly expenses. It is useful to get yourself into a habit of putting away a small amount of money each month or every week. This can be $25, $50, $100, or how ever much you can afford without cutting into money needed to pay bills. Put this money regularly into a savings account that has a good percentage yield so your money is not just sitting there, but making interest.

Another way to increase your current assets is to make more money. With more money coming in you can put more money away without cutting it out of the money you may want for other needs or wants. You can ask for more hours at your job.

You can ask for a raise if you think you deserve one and depending on how long ago you last had one. Confidently ask your boss for a raise after you explain how valuable you are to your company and what progress you have made since being hired there. With luck, you may get a nice raise on your next paycheck.

Or, you can look for a part time job or look for gigs on the side. There are many people looking for easy jobs that they do not want to do themselves, such as yard work, pet sitting, dog walking, baby sitting, and more. Take stock of what skills you can offer to the table and look for jobs in that area of expertise. If you are good at web design, for example, maybe you can find jobs for people who need websites or logos done. If you are a hairdresser, look for one-time gigs for people like for modeling shoots. Since you were trained in cosmetology, you can also do make up jobs on the side.

You can also sell your stuff. Try using local ads in the paper, Craigslist, or eBay to market old clothes and other items. You may even have valuables such as jewelry that you don’t want but are still worth money. All that extra stuff hanging around could give you enough cash to start a nice savings fund and increase your current assets.
